When I set out to create the Big Spoon Pillow, I knew the brand needed a logo that captured the essence of what the product represents.
Comfort.
Connection.
Cuddling.
And the quiet intimacy of relaxing beside someone you care about.
The goal was to design something that felt timeless and calm, with a subtle sense of luxury. The Big Spoon Pillow is all about slowing down, relaxing, and enjoying those moments at the end of the day when the world finally gets quiet.
The logo needed to reflect that same feeling.
A Shape That Mirrors the Product
One of the most distinctive aspects of the Big Spoon Pillow is its unique shape.
Unlike traditional pillows, it was engineered to support the body in positions people naturally find themselves in while cuddling, relaxing, or watching TV in bed. The curves and contours allow the pillow to comfortably accommodate one or two people.
Because the pillow’s shape is so unique, I wanted the logo to subtly echo those curves. An intentional feature of the logo is that it represents two entities embracing, symbolizing the the closeness of two beings while using the pillow.
Over time, the hope is that people will recognize the silhouette instantly — connecting the logo directly with the experience of comfort the pillow provides.
Designed by a Talented Artist
Interestingly, the logo wasn’t designed by me.
I worked with a talented designer on Fiverr who took my initial ideas and translated them into visual form. I shared the direction I had in mind — soft curves, a feeling of comfort, and something that hinted at the shape of the pillow itself.
He presented nine original concepts, and after a few refinements the Big Spoon logo you see today was born. You can find his services here.
Sometimes the best ideas come from collaboration.
More Than Just a Shape
One of the things I appreciate most about the logo is that it can be interpreted in different ways.
At its core, it represents two forms coming together, much like two people relaxing side by side. The soft curves suggest closeness and connection — a visual nod to the feeling of being wrapped in a comfortable embrace.
The inspiration for the pillow itself came from my own relationship and the physical challenges we faced after an injury. Comfort, support, and closeness became more important than ever.
The Big Spoon Pillow was created to make those moments easier.
Comfort — Even When You're Alone
While the pillow was originally designed with couples in mind, many people quickly discover it works just as well for relaxing alone.
The soft memory foam curves and larger size make it perfect for:
- hugging
- lounging
- watching TV in bed
- reading or scrolling on your phone
- or simply unwinding at the end of the day
Sometimes comfort is about connection with someone else.
Sometimes it’s simply about taking care of yourself.
The Big Spoon Pillow supports both.
A Logo That Represents the Experience
At the end of the day, the logo represents more than a product.
It represents a moment — that quiet, comfortable space where people relax, connect, and unwind together.
As the Big Spoon brand grows, my hope is that the shape becomes instantly recognizable and always reminds people of the simple joy of comfort.
Cuddle on.
